Videos on a website are really helpful for selling
horses. However, it took me quite awhile to figure out how to do them.
First, I bought some software for the computer....then I ended up buying a
hardware package, which led to a whole new computer because my regular
computer was too small and didn't have enough ports to put the hard drive
in. I spent several hours and phone calls figuring things out, but
finally have it down now. My system captures the movie (as much as you
want) from either an 8 mm camcorder tape or VHS video tape. It makes a file
from which I pick out some footage. It converts the footage to .avi
format so I can send it to my webmaster, who puts it on my website. So,
that's how it works and 90% of the public can open the videos and see
them, if they have good connections and their computers are not really old.
I have started a little side business processing videos
for people to send to their webmasters. I need either an 8MM
camcorder tape or VHS
video tape to work from. You can tell me what you want done (ie:
running walk, second direction, etc). The finished .avi file will use
only about 6 to 10 seconds of video, so I will pick out the horse's best
featured gaits from whatever video footage you send. .Avis that are
longer than 10 seconds take too long for a viewer to load, and defeat the
purpose of using movies. You can send as many horses as you
wish on the original video tape, and I will email an individual .avi file
back to you for each horse. You can have your webmaster put these
.avi files onto your website or you can email them directly to an
interested buyer instead of going through the hassle and expense of
mailing video tapes.
Please print off and complete
this
form and include it with your original video tape, along with a
postal money order for $10 US for each finished .avi file that you
require. If you wish to have the original video tape returned to
you, please include an additional $5 US to cover postage and handling.
