A good way to protect that expensive riding coat, and to come out of a class without sweat wicked up on your coat, is to spray the outside and inside EDGES with Scotchgard.  Test your fabric first, and then spray all around the perimeter of the coat that could come in contact with your horse.   I also spray the front edges as well.

Keep your hats in a hat box tied with a wide ribbon going around the top of the width of the hat.   This will keep the sides in shape and prevent that goofy look that hats sometimes take on due to humidity, etc.

Assemble your riding outfits before you leave home….put together your coat, pants, shirt, tie, boots, spurs, (whip), jewellery, etc.  Then pack it accordingly in a garment back.  This way, you have your whole outfit in one place and avoid searching and stress while getting dressed for your class.
